Orecchiette with Peas and Prosciutto

1 pound orecchiette
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 pound, diced prosciutto
1 tablespoon, finely chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 1/2 cups cooked peas
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package. Heat the olive oil in a large saute pan over medium heat. Add the prosciutto and cook until nicely browned. Add the onion and saute for another 2 minutes. Add the pepper flakes and peas and cook for 1 minute more. Remove from the heat. Toss in the cooked pasta, then the butter and cheese. Spoon into bowls or dishes and serve immediately. Serves 4 to 6.
