Bistecca alla Pizzaiola

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 teaspoon chopped garlic
1/2 can whole peeled tomatoes
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon salt and freshly ground black pepper
6 sirloin steaks

Saute the garlic in half the oil for 2 minutes. Stir in the tomatoes, oregano, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Brown the steaks well on both sides in remaining oil. Reduce heat, spread tomato and garlic mixture over the steaks, cover and cook for 10 minutes. Serves 6.
