Cincinnati Chili

1 quart water
2 pounds lean hamburger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cumin seed or ground cumin
2 large onions, chopped
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper or chili pepper
1 tablespoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons ground allspice
1 16 ounce can tomato paste
1 1/2 tablespoons cider vinegar
3 large whole bay leaves

Crumble raw hamburger into water. Add all ingredients. Bring to boil, then simmer for 3 hours. Remove bay leaves. Add whole red peppers if desired for spicier taste. Serves 10 to 12.
