Green Beans with Tomatoes and Herbs

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, minced
1 14 ounce can crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon minced basil
1 teaspoon minced oregano
1 pound trimmed green beans
salt and pepper to taste

In a medium skillet over medium heat, heat the oil. Add the garlic and onion and saute for 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes, basil and oregano. Cook for 2 minutes. Add the green beans. Cover and cook for 6 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. 4 servings.
