Lima Beans and Ham
12 ounces dried lima beans
4 cups water
2 cup ham, diced
1 cup celery, chopped
1 cup onion, diced
1/2 cup carrots, minced fine
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
2 teaspoons beef soup base or bouillon
1 teaspoon chicken soup base or bouillon
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 pinch dill weed
1 pinch caraway seeds
1 clove garlic, minced
To make sure the beans are tender at the end of the cooking time, soak beans overnight, or boil on stovetop for 10 minutes prior to adding them to the crockpot. Combine all ingredients in crockpot. Cook on low 8 hours or until beans are tender.
