Easy Sauerkraut
4 slices bacon, diced, optional
1 27 ounce can sauerkraut
1 head cabbage, chopped
1 large onion, diced
1 tab.espoon butter
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
In small skillet, cook bacon, saving drippings. In crockpot, combine sauerkraut, cabbage, onion, butter, sugar, salt and pepper. Pour cooked bacon and drippings over all. Cover and cook on low for 3 to 5 hours.
