Dilly Bread
Soften 1 package active dry yeast or 1 cake in 1/4 cup warm water.
Combine in large mixing bowl: 1 cup creamed cottage cheese, heated to lukewarm
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon instant minced onion
1 tablespoon soft butter
2 teaspoons dill seed
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon soda
1 unbeaten egg
softened yeast
Add 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour to form a stiff dough, beating well after each addition. Cover with dish towel. Let rise in a warm place; 85 to 90 degrees, until light and double in bulk about 50 to 60 minutes. Stir down dough. Turn into well greased 8 inch round 1 1/2 or 2 quart casserole. Let rise in warm place until light, 30 to 40 minutes. Bake at 350F for 40 to 50 minutes until brown. Turn out on rack and brush top with soft butter and sprinkle with salt. Preparation time: 1 1/2 hours. Makes 1 round loaf.
